5 Year Anniversary Trip

We celebrated 5 years of marriage this year on June 6, but we decided to take a trip closer to the end of summer to celebrate. We wanted to have an opportunity to explore Chicago while we live here so we stayed downtown for 4 days/3 nights and had a good time seeing the city. We had uninterrupted meals, slept in, took naps, and walked all over that city! Just what these parents needed :) While there we went to the amazing Shedd Aquarium, which took way longer to explore than we expected. I think we were there for about 4 hours and still didn't get to see everything. We got some Chicago deep dish pizza, Chicago style popcorn, and met up with a childhood friend of mine, Andrea, to eat some yummy Italian food, so good! We took a train down to the city, rode the elevated train (the "L"), rode city buses, and walked a lot. It was neat to see the city and really get to look up and pay attention to the sites rather than our usual attention being paid to the stroller and kids we are pushing while trying not to run into anyone. Overall, it was a great trip!
This giant Mac N Cheese noodle was right outside the Shedd Aquarium. We had to take a picture of it to send to the kids :)
The funny part is, Patrick is the only one in the family who doesn't love Mac N Cheese ;)

A friendly turtle
HK loves frogs so we took a picture of this giant frog hanging from the ceiling.

A real frog for HK
