Happy 3rd Birthday Micah!

Happy 3rd Birthday Micah! You are such a bright spot to our family and we all LOVE you so much! You have a zest for life that I love to sit back and watch. You are such a funny little guy, always looking to get a laugh or smile out of people. Your smile is contagious and rubs off on anyone who crosses your path. You are also a very certain (strong-willed) boy- once you make up your mind about something it is made up and no one is going to change it. For example, you need to have a small cavity fixed (literally just something sprayed on your tooth, no drilling or anything painful) but you decided that you weren't going to open up your mouth for the dentist and no amount of bribing would change your mind. We offered you EVERY single bribe we could think of but you have your mind made up and nothing will change it. I think this will serve you very well as you grow older, you may not feel the full effects of peer pressure as you enter into school and grow older. But for now mom and dad will keep trying to be patient and more creative in our approach to get you to listen to us when it comes to safety and health.

Nicknames you like to guy by: Micah man, Micah bug, Sweet Potato (because your hair is the exact color of the inside of one, but you let everyone know you're only Mommy's sweet potato), Little Buddy (but you tell everyone you're only Daddy's little buddy), Hug a bug (once again, only Daddy's hug a bug).

Your favorite foods: Nutella (pronounced Noo-tye-a). Anything that you can dip in Nutella. You like other foods okay but you ask for a Nutella sandwich for every single meal every single day. I let you have it about once per day but that doesn't stop you from asking for it at all other meals too :)

You love any and all trucks but your current favorite is a digger (excavator). You have a favorite shirt that you call your happy digger shirt because the truck is smiling and you want to wear it every time it shows in your drawer after being washed. You also love firetrucks and garbage trucks. You ask every Monday if it's garbage day and we talk about how the garbage truck comes on Wednesday, 2 more days. Then you wake up Tuesday asking again, and we talk about 1 more day. You are so excited on Wednesday mornings when you see the garbage cans out at the street and get so excited when you get to see them dump the garbage into their trucks. You recently told me that you want to be a garbage man when you grow up :)

You have come so far in your speech over the past year and you say the funniest and cutest things. You never use the word "I" but instead say "My" with everything. "My want to go, my want Nutella to eat," etc. and it's just adorable. Over the winter you called everything that could open a door. If you wanted the lid off of a jar you'd ask me to open the door, lift the flap books were doors, window blinds were doors, your seatbelt was a door. While we try to help you annunciate your words more clearly so people can understand you better, we just don't have the heart to correct these super cute things you say because they are adorable. At breakfast you always ask for your yater cup (water cup) and wergert (yogurt). There are just too many of these things to list but even when you're not trying to make all of us smile you still manage to do just that.

This year we celebrated with multiple birthday parties. Your first one was the weekend before your birthday at the jumpy house on base. You had a shared party with some twin friends on our street, Abbi & Andrew Preston who were turning 4. You wanted a firetruck themed party and loved it! Then on your actual birthday we had waffles for breakfast, Chick-fil-A for lunch, and Nutella sandwiches for dinner followed by ice cream cookie sandwiches. All of your favorite foods! We went to Nashville the weekend after your birthday to celebrate your birthday buddy, Nana Hunter who was turning 90! While there we had a small family birthday party at Aunt Cyndi's house, again firetruck themed. We ordered pizza and had Oreo dirt cake for dessert. You love being in the spotlight and shine in it so you really enjoyed all of your celebrations this year! We love you so much buddy and can't wait to see what this next year holds for you!

Char & HK were so excited about Micah's birthday, they couldn't wait for him to get up to open his birthday presents!

He asked for this puzzle with latches for about a month, thanks Nana Colgan!

Uncle Kyle gave Micah this special train stop night light that he had in his room when he was growing up. My grandpa Bush gave this to Kyle when he was about Micah's age and my dad made a base for it years later. Micah LOVES it and sleeps with it on every single night!
Sleeping in his new big boy bed! When did he get soooo big?

Friends Andrew & Abbi turned 4 and we had one big celebration at the bouncy house on base! The kids all had a blast and fell asleep fast that night!
